This week's Rumour Roundup
Huawei’s upcoming flagship
Huawei’s latest flagship line the Mate 20, due to be unveiled October 16th at a London event, keeps providing us with further leaks of what specs to expect. Both phones in the line, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are due to be powered by the Kirin 980 processor – a chipset Huawei claims to be just as powerful as the newly launched Apple A12 Bionic chipset. The Mate line is due to maintain its triple Leica lense camera setup in the rear along with an in-screen fingerprint scanner on the Pro version.
Razer Phone 2
More press images have been released this week which show that the Razer 2 phone, due to be unveiled October 10th, maintains much of the aesthetic of last years model. The worlds first “Gamers” mobile phone released last year was quite revolutionary with its 120Hz Panel and incredible front firing speakers.
Google Maps helps lunch time debates
Later this week, Google Maps will be launching a new feature that will allow groups to vote on where they wish to dine through a messaging app. The feature will allow users to share their favourite places to eat with one another through any messaging group chat – then the participants can vote on all the nominations with a thumbs up or thumbs down. Finally an end to office lunch hour debates on where to eat.
iPhone XS and XS Max Sales
And finally, initial sales figures for the new iPhone series are showing the Max is outselling the XS “three to four times” globally according to apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In a world where we are consuming more and more TV shows, movies and games from our phone this doesn’t come as a surprise. But which do you rather – a larger screen for content or a handset that easily slides in and out of your pocket?
That’s all for this weeks latest tech and rumour update.
