Samsung this evening announced the all new Note9, the most powerful Galaxy handset ever.
The spectacular new smartphone was unveiled at a special Galaxy Unpacked event streamed live on the Samsung website.
The new Note’s key features include a redesigned S Pen stylus. Not only does this still provide the handwriting and drawing features for which the Note has been acclaimed, it also now offers Bluetooth connectivity. With a quick click, you can control the Note9 from up to 10 metres away. It’s an intuitive and easy way to take photos or even control a boardroom presentation.
At 6.4 inches, the Note9’s curved Infinity Display is the largest ever on a Samsung device, with an extra 0.1 inch of space over the previous Note. It uses Super AMOLED technology for eye-popping colour and super dark blacks. It‘s perfect for multi-tasking, with its near-tablet size providing plenty of space for arranging apps side by side. It has a cinematic aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and Quad HD+ resolution.
The Note9’s battery has been designed to see you through on even the most demanding of days. Like the screen, it’s Samsung’s largest ever at 4,000 mAh. It also supports fast charging and wireless charging. Combined with the octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, it makes the Note9 a true powerhouse, a smartphone on which you can really get things done.
In fact, the Note9 is more than powerful enough to act as a desktop. Which is why it comes with Samsung DeX capabilities. Connect the handset to a monitor, Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you’re all set to get some serious work done on an even bigger screen. When you’re finished, simply disconnect and use the Note9 as normal. Now your whole computer can go with you.
The Note9's power will be particularly evident in gaming. Samsung's presentation included the announcement that Fortnite will be coming to Android this week, with Galaxy users getting the first invitations, starting immediately. Samsung Galaxy users will also have access to an exclusive Fortnite skin.
Borrowing some technology from the Galaxy S9+, the Note9 features a twin lens dual aperture camera system. It reacts like the human eye to take perfect pictures in a wide range of lighting conditions. The Note9 camera also features optical image stabilisation, live focus for blurred background portraits, and a flaw detection system which flags image quality issues as you snap, giving you a chance to quickly take a better photo before the moment is lost.
The Note9 is absolutely bursting with other advanced features including face and fingerprint recognition, Dolby Atmos sound and the Samsung Knox security system, which lets you keep work and personal files separate and secure. The Note9 is also IP68 dust and water resistant, ready for pretty much anything life throws at it.
