Motorola announced three new smartphones earlier today at a global event broadcasted from New York, London, and Sao Paulo.
With significant improvements in camera capabilities and battery life, the company hopes that the new Moto X Style, Moto X Play and Moto G can help to put Motorola back on the mobile agenda.
Now that the phones have been revealed, here’s what we can expect.
With IPX7-rated protection and Corning Gorilla Glass, the Moto G is designed to withstand immersion in up to three feet of fresh water for up to 30 minutes and will survive accidental drops and scrapes and scratches on your display. The G also boasts an impressive all-day battery and a 13MP camera, and as with the other two new handsets, can be customised on MotoMaker, Motorola’s online design studio where you can pick the colours, memory capacity and accents on your phone.
Moto X Play
Offering – an almost unheard of – battery life of 48-hours and a water-repellent design, Moto X Play also has one of the best cameras on the market at 21MP and an edge-to-edge 5.5-inch HD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Moto X Style
Style by name, style by nature – the Moto X Style offers lots of personalisation options so your phone is always on trend, whether you want the handset wrapped in authentic materials including new Saffiano leather and real wood with unique grains or a vibrant colour. The Style also offers a large 5.7-inch edge-to-edge display, a 21MP camera and, according to Motorola, the ‘world's fastest charging smartphone’, which offers 10 hours of power in just 15 minutes of charging with TurboPower.
In terms of release, according to Motorola, Moto G officially launched today and is available in 60+ countries throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific now. Moto X Play will be available from August in various countries across Europe, Latin America, and Canada; Moto X Style will be available in countries across Europe, Latin America and North America starting in September.
