Iconic photography brand Polaroid has announced at CES 2016 the launch of two new unlocked smartphones, the Polaroid Snap and Polaroid Power.

Speaking at the event today, president and CEO of Polaroid, Scott W. Hardy said: “Our new smartphone line complements a family of Polaroid products that embody what the brand is most well-known for; offering consumers fun and affordable ways to instantly capture and share memories with their friends and family. We’re proud to introduce the Polaroid Snap and the Polaroid Power smartphones as an affordable option for consumers who are seeking to do exactly that with their mobile device.” The Polaroid Snap is available in three display sizes, 5-inch, 5.5-inch and a large 6-inch and offers the user a 13MP rear camera with a dual LED flash, and a 5MP front camera with a forward-facing flash. 

The Snap has a quad-core processor, 4G LTE connectivity, 2GB RAM and up to 16GB of storage and runs on Android 5.1, Lollipop OS. It will be available in a range of colours (pink, blue, black and white) and is provisionally priced from $129.99 to $179.99.

The Polaroid Power, on the other hand, has a large 6-inch, 1920 x 1080p full HD display; a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera; a 64-bit octa-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 4G LTE connectivity; and 32GB of built-in storage.

Power by name, power by nature, and the battery on the Polaroid Power promises a hefty 10000mAh. Once launched in the market, the Power will retail from $249.99.
