Repair FAQs
At the Carphone Warehouse we understand that when your mobile stops working you need it fixed – and fast. So here are the answers to the most common questions we’re asked.

My mobile has developed a fault. What should I do now?
No need to worry at The Carphone Warehouse we have every angle covered.
Warranty Repair; If your phone has developed a manufacturers fault and is still within warranty we will reapir it for you free of charge.
Chargeable Repair; If your handset has any physical damage or is out of warranty we will contact you with an estimated cost and you can decide if you want to continue with the repair.
Insurance Repair: If you have Lifeline insurance on your mobile please drop into any Carphone Warehouse or download a claims form from the Lifeline section on this website.

How long will my repair take?
The average length of time for a repair phone is 10-14 working days*. The average length of time for an iphone repair is 5-7 working days*. In the unlikely event your repair is delayed due to issues with parts or needs to be sent to the manufacturer for a higher level repair, please allow up to 28 working days* from the day you booked it in for repair.
*(Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays)

Can I keep track of my repair?
Yes, our online tracker at will tell you where your mobile phone is, what’s being done, and when it should be ready. Click on the Repair Tracker at the bottom of the page under services. Enter your IMEI to check the status of the repair. Your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number is on the receipt you received in store for your repair, the receipt from your original purchase, or on the phone packaging.
Alternatively, call our customer care team on 1850 424 800 Option 1 or pop into any Carphone Warehouse store.

Will I lose my data?
We strongly recommend you always back up any personal content you want to keep and remove the sim card and memory card, as we can’t guarantee your device will be returned with all its original data.

How will I know if my repair is completed?
You can check the online repairs tracker at we’ll also send you a text to let you know when your phone is back in store and available for collection.

What happens if my phone is still not fixed?
Your mobile phone will have been tested by a certified engineer to manufacturer’s standards when you get it back. If the problem persists please drop into any Carphone Warehouse store or contact our customer care team on 1850 424 800 option 1 for more details.

I’ve been told my phone is beyond economical repair, what can I do?
This unfortunately means that a certified engineer has determined your phone cannot be repaired. However, there may be other alternatives to a repair. Please drop into any Carphone Warehouse and our customer consultants will be happy to discuss these with you.

What if I borrowed a standby phone and want my deposit back?
That’s no problem. Just bring it back when you come to collect your repair and we’ll refund your deposit providing it’s undamaged.

How long do I have to collect my phone from repair?
We’ll contact you as soon as your phone is ready. Then we allow 90 days for collection, after that time we reserve the right to retain the handset to cover the cost of repair.
