Samsung unveiled the latest Galaxy Note 5.7-inch phablet at an Unpacking event in New York yesterday and this time the South Korean tech manufacturer has decided to focus heavily on security, waterproofing and a balance between using your phone for work and personal life.
Running Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), much like the Galaxy S7 edge
, the Note7 now also offers a curve on its 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen and Edge Panel for super-quick access to menus.
While fans of the Galaxy Note range will see few changes in terms of camera specs – the Note7 offers a 12MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera – the improvements in battery size (3,500mAh battery compared to the Note5’s 3,000mAh battery), internal memory and screen resolution will all certainly be welcome.
Similarly, Samsung’s focus on improving security, and biometric authentication in particular with its new iris scanning technology, really separates the Note7 from the competition.
Obviously a key component of the Galaxy Note range has always been the S Pen and with the Note7 we’re going to see a new and improved S Pen that offers IP68, meaning, just like the phone itself, the S Pen is now also water and dust proof; Air Command functions, our favourite of which is the ability to translate on the spot; and screen off memos, so Note7 users can jot down ideas and pin them to the Always On Display.
The Note7 will be available in four colours – Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx – and you can pre-register your interest now!
