While Apple and the Irish State may be embroiled in a sticky tax situation with the European Commission, other news to emerge from Cupertino this morning includes the likely unveiling date for the next iPhone.
Apple has *finally* sent out press invitations to an event on next Wednesday in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, which will likely see the tech giant announce its next iPhone.
As usual, Apple has remained tight-lipped about what we might expect, however, if the rumour mill is to be believed
, we’ll likely see an iPhone – or iPhones – with a similar design to its predecessor, the iPhone 6s but with a few tweaks, namely the removal of the headphone jack and the addition of a dual camera.
If we're lucky and Apple are feeling enerous, we may also get a sneak peak of the Apple Watch 2 and a walk-though iOS 10.
No official launch date has been announced as of yet, but if we do see a new iPhone
next week it’s likely to hit the market by the end of September.
We'll be live blogging from the event on September 7th, so make sure to keep an eye on our blog and Twitter for all the latest updates on the day. You can also register your interest in news from Carphone Warehouse about the upcoming iPhone here
